Health Issues

I am simply tired of being pushed around by the medical system. I really like my doctors but it seems like they try to push you to one facility. I need a procedure and he wants me to travel almost 2 hours to the hospital. The closer one is not as up to date. Now I have to make arrangements for a hospital closer. To get to the right department or the right person is nearly impossible unless your a doctor. And to make sure they are using the most up to date stuff. I tried to navigate the website which took a phone call to even get registered. It was not at all helpful. So by the time I got all this done...it's too late to call anyone. And my notes are a mess. Time to organize. Anyone else have a medical story?

Reconnecting with Friends

I went to the Relay for Life at Phoenixville H.S. after work on Friday. I tried calling my friends but the calls wouldn't go thru so I just walked around hoping I would recognize someone after more than 30 years. I was ready to leave, as I turned I saw a sign. Class of 74 PAHS. I was home. I walked over to the tent and stood in front of everyone (it was 10:15 pm) and asked if anyone recognized me. I was a little nervous but Helen stood up and we hugged. It was so great to see her. She had not changed a bit. She had me laughing. She called Ed. We went to the track. We did a couple of laps and Helen had enough (with her recent knee replacement). Ed and I picked up the pace and did a couple more laps. I left at 1:00am. I was so excited. I am also helping get in touch with classmates for out 35 reunion. It is so great to see so everyone. I didn't really talked to anyone but Helen. Hopefully next time I'll make the rounds. I forgot to take pictures...me...I always take pictures.

I am starting yoga again. I haven't been able to exercise lately due to some injuries. I really need to get moving again. I'm feeling flabby and loose. I got a cd called "How to begin Yoga" learn the basics from 13 yoga masters...... Wish me luck!
Ok, tried the yoga...bad investment. Gotta try another tape. It was an ad for 13 yoga masters..lol...didn't flow. Very disappointed. For now I'll just do the poses I remember.

What happened to the family business? I miss that personal service. If your a few days late, you explain, give an apology and move on. Now they try to nickel and dime you to death. Late fees on late fees? Your a few days late...OK you pay the late fee...but you didn't pay the late fee immediately...another late fee. Frustrating!

Rain! I usually like rain especially storms...but I need some sunshine. The Relay for Life is this weekend and warm sunny weather is needed. Only good thing...I don't have to water those flowers I planted last weekend.

Flowers on Sunday

What a beautiful day! I went shopping for flowers. Planted my front garden and a couple of planters. Flowers make me smile...the colors. It feels good to dig in the earth and pray it all works out. I'm not that good at planning my garden so I buy a bunch of colors and sit looking at the empty space and placing them helter skelter. We'll see how it turns out. Picture to follow.

Ever go to Lifehacker? It has an article - Learn Willpower Techniques from the Marshmallow Test. Well, there you go...Marshmallows...Kinda makes me hungry. First to the article: It says that distraction is the key....I'm trying to quit smoking. Some days are good...Others not so good. I may try the distraction. I do have alot to do around here. Spring house cleaning. I remember my mom doing this 2x a year. Windows and screens, curtains and drapes - I don't know too many people with drapes. They were great for sleeping...terrible for cleaning. I remember that bats would hide in the folds of my drapes in my bedroom. Distraction is working for me so far....I think I'll get something to eat...better than smoking!

Here I sit on a beautiful Saturday. I went to Dominic's 1st T-ball game. That's what I call fun. I ran around the playground with Vin before the game but once it starts it's all about baseball. Pictures to follow.
I have been doing a little too much sitting around lately. Money is always an issue with everyone so if you have any ideas of how to spend a beautiful day when no one is around...let me know.
Last night I drove around the neighborhoods I would travel as a kid. Since joining facebook, I've reconnected with friends from grade school on....The ride was full of memory...the good was as interesting as the bad. The bad doesn't seem so bad now! ...but I would never want to go back.

Hey, I was thinking about the wedding. I was sitting with two females. One married and one with a live-in. They were without partners. So, now I think it doesn't matter. Most of us are bound to end up at the wedding alone.

Saturday

Wedding was great...bride was beautiful...service...party...Everything was perfect!
Attending the wedding without a date is normal for me and I had a great time.
I realize that now would be a good time for a partner.
Someone to dance with, a shoulder to lean on, or a hand to hold.

In July, each year, I show up to ride a belt sander at Bertie's Inn. It's a benefit for the M.S. Society. I've been doing this for about 5 years. It's a lot of fun but I have to admit I am a nervous wreak. I have been know to fall. There are about 40 teams and it's a double elimination. It's quite a party as you can see. The bar is open but there are bleachers at the race to be family friendly. Anyone interested in riding? They are always looking for riders. Bertiesinn.com for pictures other than me.

Friday

Did you ever have "one of those days at work"? I've just had two in a row. So happy to have the weekend off. Wedding on Saturday and Easter Sunday at Kelly and Ryan's with the boys.

Spending time with my grandsons takes up alol of hours. They would visit before they became involved in sports. Now I travel to see them. Always looking for things to do.
